Momo’s. A favorite Nepali snack, though not actually from Nepal. They are a variation on a Chinese dumpling. And they seem to be very popular. During the day we spent in Themal & Durbar Square I spotted dozens of restaurants and carts selling the snack, always with at least a small crowd around. Everywhere you looked, tourists and natives alike could been seen carrying the distinctive paper bowls up and down the streets.
Mine were made from Water Buffalo, which I had never had before, the taste and texture was similar to ground beef. Katie had veggie Momos, though we could not tell what types of veggies. Hot, very spicy, and salty. A delicious treat after a day spent walking the streets of Kathmandu.
