Peggy Sue’s 50’s Diner and the Diner-saur Park.

Peggy Sue's 50's Dinner

We started off this road trip with a bang by stopping for lunch at the exact place that pops into your head when I say the words “roadside attraction.”

Peggy Sue’s is the quintessential 50’s Diner with harried waitresses in green and pink pastel dress serving fried foods and pie to the masses of travelers along route I-15. Every inch of wall space is filled with signs advertising menu items, pictures of 50’s icons, or sassy sayings. We sat at the counter to eat, of course, and I had a slice of Banana Split Pie that tasted like childhood.

Out back, through a gift shop crammed full of everything from toilet paper to novelty hats, is a small park with ducks and metal dinosaur statutes (and one slightly out-of-place King Kong). It’s a bit rundown but I think that only adds to the charm of the place.
